SFE News and Events October 2009
News – New Volunteers
During October the SFE was delighted to welcome Susan Clapham and James Middleton to its team of dedicated volunteers. Susan will be helping out Viv Fawcett in the office on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays. James will also be supporting Gareth Davies and the collection and delivery teams on those days.
News – Business Review
The SFE was also pleased to welcome Helen Middleton, Development Officer with FRN, on the 29th October. She has been asked to undertake an appraisal of how effectively the SFE goes about its work with a view to setting new and realistic business objectives and a strategy achieve them. Helen has now met the team, viewed the SFE premises and begun reviewing the SFE Business Process Manual. Her appraisal work will continue over the next couple of months and a final report is expected early in the New Year.
News – Added Assurance for White Goods Purchasers
In order to offer added assurance to those purchasing electrical white goods the SFE has reached an agreement with a local independent electrical contractor to check and test appliances for safety and functionality. The SFE will however be unable to offer any guarantees and the stock we still be sold as seen.
Events – Friday 13th November
Following the very positive reaction to the SFE display in the Guildhall during September the SFE is to mount another display in the Market Square on Friday 13 November. It will again offer the citizens of Stafford Borough and its surrounds the opportunity to meet staff and learn what furniture the organisation needs to meet those it serves. Due to high level of current demand the SFE can rehome most lines of suitable well maintained clean and fire resistant furniture. Do take this opportunity to learn more about what the SFE does.
