SFE News and Events April 2010

News: Warehouse move – Looking forward to business as usual

Hopefully normal service at the SFE Sash Street office will resume by the 15th May, when the SFE’s doors will once again be open during normal office hours. The appointments only policy which has operated throughout much of April has been the result of the move from the warehouse at Sieghford to the MOD Site 4 Warehouse. The move is progressing well and to time, thanks to the efforts of staff and volunteers.

As the SFE moves the focus of its operations from Seighford to nearer Stafford thanks are due to Leon Douglas who, on the basis of a gentleman’s agreement, has been the SFE’s landlord for a number of years.

Event: Market Square

If you want to learn more about the SFE and how it operates Staff and volunteers will again be in the Market Square on Friday 7 May.

Events: Village Collection Days: Hixon and Little Haywood

The next village collection day will take place on Saturday 15th May at Hixon. The Van and lads will then be at Little Haywood on Saturday 19th June.

If you live in these villages and would like something collected from your door step on these days do give Viv a ring at the office Tel 01785 606674.

News: Information and Connection Service

To date some 67 clients have taken advantage of the SFE’s Information and Connection service which became operational at the end of January.

The range of information requested has covered the canvas anticipated when the information pack was prepared. The numbers indicated below represent the number sets of information provided under each subject heading. Yes we could not provide the furnishing needs of 12 people who came to the SFE, so staff referred them to other sources. The SFE is therefore continually in need of stock so please give the office a ring if you are disposing furniture and feel it may be of value to someone. Viv is usually available during office hours 01785 606674.
